Emanuel Happenings

Do you wake up each day with thoughts of God on your mind? Or do you need two cups of coffee first? Do you have to pull your kids out of bed and yell at them to get ready for school, make breakfast, pack lunches, perfunctorily kiss your spouse as they and/or you rush off to work? No wonder thoughts of God being real and in charge of our lives is the last thought on our minds. Each week I will be sharing a different devotional thought on how we can realize God is real, intensely interested in us, and wants to be personally connected to us every day. Stay tuned.  

 Crossroads youth group, for grades 5-8, will be held at 7 PM in the school gym. SOAR youth group for high school youth will be at 8 PM in the church youth rooms. 

  Did you know that Emanuel offers several classes throughout the week where you can connect with others, be encouraged, and grow in your faith? It's not too late to join any of our mid-week Bible classes - hope to see you this week! "STARTING POINT" (Tuesdays @ 6-7:15pm, church) Pastor Schulz leads this Bible basics course which is great for new and long-time members alike. This class is also available virtually on our website. "SERVING CHRIST" (Wednesdays @ 7-8:30pm, school) Pastor Heiges leads this study of the unique gifts God has given us and how we can use them to his glory. "MEN'S BIBLE STUDY" (Wednesdays @ 7:15pm, Community Room) A three-week men's study begins tonight, connecting themes of hunting and fishing with lessons from the Word. "BIBLE BREAKFAST" (Thursdays @ 6:30am, Marly's) Pastor Heiges spends an hour discussing books of the Bible, followed by breakfast and fellowship.

The bazaar will take place the weekend of September 25-26-27 in the church basement. There will be canned items, produce, plants, crafts, greeting cards, vanilla, and dish cloths for sale. Below are the hours of the bazaar: Saturday, September 25:  4:30 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday, September 26:  7:30 am - 12:00 pm Monday, September 27:  7:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Emanuel school and preschool students have prepared a song to sing in worship this Sunday, Sept. 19. Last names A-J sing at 8:00am worship and last names K-Z sing at 10:30am. We look forward to worshipping with you this weekend!

JAM is back! All kids ages 0-5 and their grown-ups are invited to join us for "Jesus and Me" time at Emanuel this Friday from 8:15-9:15am in the school commons.  We'll enjoy crafts, stories from the Bible, songs, and playtime in the gym! Hope to see you there!

PSI starts Wed, Sept. 15! We look forward to welcoming our public school students back to learn about God's Word in "Public School Instruction" (PSI) starting tonight, Wed, Sept. 15 at 5:30pm. Join us in praying for these students as they grow in the Word this year!
