The Savior's Sermon

Image
Join us for worship this weekend as we study Jesus' well-known Sermon on the Mount in a new worship series called "The Savior's Sermon." The Greek word epiphany means “appearance.” In the first half of this church season called Epiphany, we saw Jesus appear on the scene, beginning his ministry. He calls his disciples. It is not long before large crowds start following Jesus around Galilee. So, in the second half of this season, Jesus is going to teach us what it means to be one of his followers. Jesus does this through the most famous sermon of all time. It is not delivered while standing in a pulpit but while sitting on a hill. Elevated above the crowd, Jesus’ voice would carry through the air. His followers hung on his every word as the Christ talked about living an authentic Christian life. It is called the Sermon on the Mount. Our worship over the next few weeks will follow this pattern:  Trust in God’s Strength You Are . . . So Be Live a Holy Life Love Your Enemi

Emanuel Bell Choir Collection

Image
During the Christmas Season, Emanuel Bell Choirs collect items for the Children’s Hospital of Fox Valley Foundation. The Foundation provides patient support through play, preparation, education, guided imagery, and self-expression activities, including creative arts.  This year we collected a total of 460 pieces. The items included toys, books (coloring, puzzles, and reading), craft kits and supplies, electronic charging cords, clothing (T-shirts and sweatpants), and personal hygiene items. The art supplies were purchased with Thrivent Team Funds. Thank you, Thrivent.

Pizza Fundraiser Results

Image
The information took a while, but it was well worth the wait! The official numbers are in, and our 2022 pizza fundraiser brought in a grand total of $25,416.73 in profit. We certainly want to thank our students and their families for being salespeople, the over 150 volunteers that made and sorted the pizzas, Ort Trucking for supplying us with a refrigerated trailer to store ingredients, and all who bought and enjoyed the delicious pizzas. The money brought in will go toward various possible non-budgeted items, mostly including improvements for our playground, which is currently being studied by an action team under our Emanuel School Board. We can't wait to share those exciting plans with you; thank you for another successful pizza fundraiser!

Urgent Need for Substitute Teachers

Image
Are you looking for a flexible, part-time way to serve your Savior and your school? Consider becoming a certified substitute teacher! As you may or may not know, there is an extreme shortage of substitute teachers in schools all over the country, and Emanuel is no exception. We are looking for motivated individuals who enjoy spending time with children, can manage a classroom of eager young minds, follow the plans of a classroom teacher, and are available on short notice. All that is necessary is at least a two-year degree in any field and a willingness to complete online, self-paced training. If you are interested, please contact Principal Bill Fuerstenau for more information. Check out the substitute teacher training requirements .
