Good morning everyone,

Here is your update for the last full week in April!

-Important Dates

-School Health Update

We still have a few cases of strep throat, stomach virus, and pink eye hanging around in our building; we are hoping that as the weather improves, the increased time out in the fresh air and sunshine will help to combat those.

-Divine Call News

Mr. Chris Luebke, our upper-grade math and 8th-grade homeroom teacher and vice principal, continues to deliberate the Call extended to him to teach high school math at Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School in Wauwatosa, WI. His wife, Katie, who teaches math at FVL, also received a Call to teach math at Kingdom Prep. We pray that God leads them to a decision that brings them peace and benefits his kingdom.

-MAP Testing

NWEA MAP testing for all grades K-8 begins this week and will run for the next three weeks. Please make sure your children are getting quality sleep and eating a healthy breakfast throughout the testing window. The results of these tests help our teachers inform instruction for your children, both now as we close out the current school year and prepare for the next.

-Milk Jugs Requested

We are looking for donations of washed gallon milk jugs with caps included for our K-4 Field Day. They may be dropped off any time between now and May 17; give them to either your classroom teacher or Miss Stahmann.

-Surveys Coming Soon

In the next few days, you will receive two different surveys via Google Forms. One will be a survey where you will indicate whether your child will be eating our FREE picnic lunch on the last day of school, May 24. Remember, that is a half-day of school this year, so you can choose to either pick your child up at 11:00 or stick around for lunch. Parents are also invited to eat with their children, so you will need to indicate that as well. The second survey will be to help inform the School Board as they complete the annual review for me, your principal. Please consider filling out that survey so I can see what I am doing well and what I may improve to serve you even better.

Have a blessed week!

In Christ,
Bill Fuerstenau, Principal
