Weekly Update - Week of 3/25/2024

Good afternoon,

What a blessing to see so many of you at our worship services today to kick off Holy Week! Thank you to our PreK and Sunday School families for bringing your children to sing; they did a fantastic job.

Here is your update for the short week ahead.

-Tiger Cub Care Sign-Up

It is time to sign up once again! Please enter all your care needed for the days from April 1-12. Please remember that we do not have school Monday, April 1, to celebrate our Savior’s resurrection! It is hard to believe, but there are only 4 sign-up periods left! Feel free to sign up for the rest of the year if you know!

-School Health Update

Things seem to be settling down, but we still have various late winter/early spring illnesses in the building, including influenza, strep, and pink eye. Continue to be vigilant and keep your children home if they have a fever or vomiting. If you receive any attendance warnings as we catch up from January/February, remember that if you visited a doctor for any illnesses, you can give their office a call and get a note to erase those absences from your child's total count of absences.

-Butter Braid Pick-Up

Butter Braids will arrive to school on Tuesday, March 26. Orders will be ready for pick-up by 3:00. If you are going to deliver them to customers that day, you should bring a cooler so that they stay frozen; otherwise, you should plan to get them into a freezer as soon as possible. We raised just under $5000 by selling 740 Butter Braids; way to go, Emanuel families! Our top-selling students, Chloey (6th)/Collyn (8th) and Akasha (K) combined to sell 132 pastries! They received their prize baskets on Friday.

-Holy Week Worship

Please make sure to check the "Important Dates" link above to view our Holy Week/Easter worship schedule. This week is arguably the biggest celebration in the Christian church year; you send your children to receive a Christ-centered education at Emanuel for a reason, so don't miss this opportunity to learn about Jesus' saving work together as a family!

-Report Cards

The 3rd quarter ended on Friday last week, so report cards are being compiled as we speak. They will be released on Fast Direct at 8:00 pm on Sunday, March 31st. I will send out a message to inform you when they are available for viewing. Once you see them, if you have any questions about your child's grades, please contact their classroom teacher directly.

-Forensics

Forensics is in full swing, and the team is almost ready for performance time! Mark your calendars to come out April 11 at 6:00 pm for a display of all of the talents with which the Lord has blessed these amazing young people! The team will also compete at Immanuel, Greenville, April 18th.

-Call Update

On Monday, March 18, the leadership at Emanuel issued a Call to Mr. Luke Zeamer to teach 4th grade at our school next year. Please keep Mr. Zeamer in your prayers as his family deliberates where he may best serve his Savior. If you would like to contact him, let me know and I will give you his information.

I pray you have a blessed Holy Week and Easter; may God, who blessed us by sending his Son Jesus to save us, continue to shower blessings on your family, this week and always!

In Christ,
Bill Fuerstenau, Principal
