Weekly Update - Week of 2/12/2024

Good evening everyone,

Hopefully, you have enjoyed the extra time with your children this long weekend; I know the teachers came away from conference with some excellent ideas for Emanuel. Here is your update for the coming week:

-Important Dates

-Lent Begins Wednesday

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14. Emanuel will offer midweek Lenten services each Wednesday at 3:30 and 7:00 with a dinner between. The dinners will take place in the Commons, and the first one is being served by our PreK/TCC staff and families. If that is you, see the note below from Mrs. D. I hope to see many of you after school in church!

-PreK Lenten Meal Sign-Up

Tiger Cub Care and our 3K and 4K students and families will be serving the Lenten Supper between services on Ash Wednesday, 2/14. What a great way to show love on Valentines’ Day! Click in for all the information and to join us in serving our amazing church family! We are in need in all areas at the moment. Please consider volunteering!

-School Health Update

We pray that the long weekend allowed the majority of our staff and students that have been sick to get some rest and heal. We continue to have high levels of influenza in our building, as well as a lingering stomach bug. If your child seems like he/she will be out sick for an extended period, ask your doctor about obtaining an excuse note so that the absences will not be counted against them.

-Spirit Week/Pep Rally

This week is Spirit Week! You can find information attached to this message; note especially the dress-up days and the specific coins that are being collected each day. All of this fun will culminate in our pep rally at 2:00 on Friday afternoon. Parents are also welcome to attend; let's go, Tigers!

-Divine Call News

As most of you know, Mrs. Heather Sulzle has returned the Call extended to her to teach at Fox Valley Lutheran High School and will remain at Emanuel; we thank God for that decision! Please also keep Mrs. Anna Laabs in your prayers as she deliberates the Call extended to her by Emanuel to serve as our Guided Studies Administrator.

As always, please contact me with any thoughts/questions/ideas/concerns. I hope to see you tomorrow at church!

In Christ, Bill Fuerstenau, Principal
