Weekly Update - Week of 9/18

Good afternoon everyone,

I'm sure your children are tired after our first full week of school; enjoy some rest at home over the next couple of days!

Here is information for the upcoming week:

-Important Dates

-School Health Update
Sickness is definitely still hanging around our hallways. Our younger classes have been hit the hardest this past week. Strep throat is still present, as well as other respiratory and stomach viruses. Please keep an eye on your child's temperature and keep them home for the appropriate amount of time according to our health policy.

-FVL Schools Parent Night
On Wednesday, September 20th, FVL Schools will be hosting a parent night at FVL. The topic of discussion will be "Against the Grain: Raising Christian Children in an Ungodly World." Childcare will be provided, and all you have to do to participate is show up at FVL on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. A flyer is attached to this message with all the necessary information.

-Supervision for After School Activities
We love having our students and their families stick around to cheer on our sports teams or participate in Youth Group. In order to make sure everyone is safely supervised, Emanuel students may NOT stay after school on campus without having an adult who is responsible for the present. This means that students may only stay for a volleyball or basketball game with a parent/guardian or an agreement with another parent who will take responsibility for the child. Along those same lines, with Youth Group starting up at the end of this month, those students may not stay at Emanuel between the end of the school day and the start of Youth Group. If a child is found unsupervised in the school building after school hours, we will call home and expect them to be picked up.

-Kwik Trip SCRIP
Right now is a great opportunity to stock up on Kwik Trip Scrip! While supplies last, Kwik Trip scrip is currently at 10% and Kwik Trip grocery-only cards are at 20%. If you would like more information about the scrip program and how that percentage can be used to pay a portion of your child’s tuition, please call the school office.

-Seal-A-Smile
Emanuel is excited to partner with Seal-A-Smile to offer a FREE preventative dental sealant program for students! The sign-up for this program was during registration, but if you are still interested in signing up, please contact the school office right away. If you did sign your child up to receive services from Seal-A-Smile, they will have their first during the last week of September. Seal-A-Smile will be at Emanuel from September 27th through the 28th. They will return again towards the end of the school year. If you have any questions about Seal-A-Smile or are unsure if your child is signed up, please contact the school office.

-All-School Photo
On September 26th at 9:00AM, we will be taking our 2023-2024 all-school photo with our new "Forever Faithful" t-shirts. Your child will receive their t-shirt that day prior to the picture. All of our 3K/4K students are invited and encouraged to stop by for that picture as well, even if Tuesday morning is not your regular school session.

As always, feel free to contact me with any thoughts/questions/ideas/concerns. Enjoy your weekend, and I hope to see you Sunday!

In Christ,

Bill Fuerstenau, Principal
